# Event triggers

> Events sent to Klaviyo and Shopify Flow when using Referrals

## Friend Invite

Triggered when an Advocate uses the email form to send a friend a referral invite via email.

### Klaviyo

Trigger metric: **`Lantern Referral Invite`**

Properties:

* **`advocateFirstName`:** The advocate's first name
* **`advocateLastName`:** The advocate's last name
* **`referralLink`**: The advocate's unique referral link
* **`message`**: The message written by the advocate. Defaults to your preset message if not provided.

### Shopify Flow

Trigger name: **`Lantern Referral Invite`**

Properties:

* **`referralLink`**: The advocate's unique referral link
* **`message`**: The message written by the advocate. Defaults to your preset message if not provided.

## Referred Friend makes successful order

Triggered when a referred Friend makes a qualifying order that counts as a successful referral.

### Klaviyo

Trigger metric: **`Lantern Referred`**

Properties:

* **`code`**: The unique gift card code generated for the referral reward. If the referral reward is an order discount used on the first order, this will be empty.

### Shopify Flow

Trigger name: **`Lantern Customer Referred`**

Properties:

* **`code`**: The gift card code generated for the referral reward. If the referral reward is an order discount used on the first order, this will be empty.

## Advocate receives referral reward

Triggered when an advocate receives a reward for a successful referral.

### Klaviyo

Trigger metric: **`Lantern Referral Awarded`**

Properties:

* **`code`**: The unique gift card or discount code generated for the advocate's referral reward.

### Shopify Flow

Trigger name: **`Lantern Referral Success`**

Properties:

* **`code`**: The unique gift card or discount code generated for the advocate's referral reward.
