Getting started

Shopify’s Store Credit functionality gives you a way to assign store credit to customers that can be applied at checkout. You can manage Store Credit on each individual customer’s account page in the Shopify Admin. Lantern’s Store Credit Rewards integrate seamlessly with Shopify’s Store Credit so you can give customers the power to redeem points for store credit or award it to them with earn events. Any Store Credit awarded through Lantern will automatically update the customer’s Store Credit balance.

Setting Up Store Credit Rewards

Navigate to Rewards in the Lantern app

Click on Create a New Reward

Choose Store Credit as the reward type

Configure the reward as needed

Save the reward

Frequently Asked Questions

Customers can use Store Credit at checkout just like any other payment method. When customers have Store Credit available, it will be listed as a payment method in the checkout page. Store Credit is not currently available as a payment method in Shopify Point of Sale.
You can manage Store Credit on each individual customer’s account page in the Shopify Admin. You can also directly give and remove Store Credit from the Customer page in the Lantern app.
Lantern’s Store Credit rewards can be set to expire after a certain amount of time. You can set the expiration date on the reward settings page. Expiring credit will automatically be removed from the customer’s account on the date.
